Congratulations, you have found our Secret Page and have been enrolled in the "Secret Page Club".. Don't you just think every website should have a secret place?! 

Our Owlery is constructed of 7 different local woods, has 5 walls and you will need to count the number of owls inside as it constantly changes..

Now you have found this page, you will have a much better chance of also finding some of the many secrets at Lipizzaner Lodge, when you get here! Indeedadoodledo, there are lots of things and places hidden away at the Lodge to entertain kids and big kids!

But first, Teenager alert, please wake up and read this..

Hey teenagers, listen up.. Even you might enjoy the GREEN NATURE everywhere around here.. Waterfalls, Mountains, Vineyards, warm Mediterrranean sea, crystal clear freshwater Lakes, Baby Dragons in Caves.. yep we have got the lot!

You can get some serious ZZZZZZZZZZs on this beach hammock terrace hidden away..

We have seen even the most hardened teenagers actually smile after a few days here and there really is so much to see and do for everyone in little old Green Slovenia.. So there is hope that the holiday you thought you were being dragged on by your boring old parents could actually be really cool and totally ok with Greta too!

And if that doesn't work, then we have 2 arcade machines to play on and plenty of hammocks hidden away in the garden where you can catch up on your beauty sleep!

Even better, we added some cool pop tunes from last century to compliment the vids and you might not know them.. The idea is you get to hear the best music ever with the most beautiful vids ever, baby!!!

We also save some vids for December where, we decided to do an advent calender, with a different vid every day WITHOUT music, so you can just listen to how it all really does sound around here, with running water, church bells and horses!!

We also have some triangular and square bird holes for the very rare Toblerone bird from Switzerland and the ice cube bird from Havana..

Lollipops..

Good deeds are always rewarded at Lipizzaner Lodge.. usually with a lollipop!

You wouldn't believe how good are the lego structures we get built for us here in exchange for a lollipop and kids can also earn a lollipop for successfully completing our "Slovenia" jigsaw (puzzle) and pointing out "where we are" on that map.. but the same reward applies for the "Where's Wally" and other jigsaw puzzles and lots of other challenges!

Birdholes..

We also have plenty of "birdholes" hidden around the lodge with little secrets held in them.. we never tell anyone where they are, but we are absolutely delighted when they get found!

Some of them contain secret Pirates' Treasure maps inside or toys or puzzles, other birdholes hide little books with a different micro Slovenian legend for you to read..

Green Slovenia Little Legends..

For such a tiddly, little, wee country, Slovenia sure has a lot of legendary charcters and tales in our history.. more than enough to make Marvel or Disney actually think up an original new idea for their next film!!

Almost nobody visiting Slovenia gets to learn about these amazing Slovenian characters, but there is a boy who got super powers after protecting a beautiful fairy, a cheeky baron who hid for a year inside his castle, a Robin Hood character who saved the Emperor and a shepherd boy who killed an evil dragon, to name just a few..

I wonder what is inside these bird holes..

Maybe you didn't know there are REAL Baby dragons hidden in some of the many Slovenian caves and very naughty little sandwich stealing pixies down the mines.. oh yes and there are lots of Devil's bridges here too!

So we decided to record these little stories and hide them around the Lodge.. Even better, we wrote these tales inside little booklets we brought back from our travels in Thailand, books made from recycled elephant poop!!! How cool is that?

Somewhere in this apartment is a secret hidden treasure map..

We also have an Owlery for Retired Owls & Aspiring Owlets..

We had such a large collection of owls from around the world too, that we just had to build a tree house in the garden for them all to hang out in and so can you!

The owls come in all shapes, colours & sizes and there is a little Owl Post box too, where you can leave your postcard for Granny or your chums back home and then choose which one of the owls will personally deliver it for you!!

The Owlery for Retired Owls and Aspiring Owlets is situated at the end of the garden..

Just one thing to note.. our Owlery is just for Retired Owls or very young Owlets.. so the older owls tend to be quite determined, but sometimes take a little longer to get your postcard home.. the younger ones can be a little excitable and sometimes get a bit lost.. but don't worry, every postcard gets delivered, in the end!!

There is a secret trap door and staircase into the Owlery.. And don't forget to hoot 3 times when you go in, otherwise the owls can get startled and peck you..

There is a chimney pot on top of the owlery where the owls fly in and out from.. some can fly straight in through the top, but others kind of crash land onto the roof and then slide down through a special magic flap in the side of the chimney!

Other stuff inside the Lodge..

We also have a Lodge Library with lots of stuff for kids of all ages and things there called "Books".. These are ancient things made from paper that contain magical stories and pictures.. a bit like your phone, but so much better.. When you start reading a good book, every next turn of the page becomes exciting and the smell of each page is so much better than your pongy old plastic phone!!

Every child producing a Lego epic will be questioned on exactly how everything functions in their construction and only then do they get a lollipop..

There are several boxes of lego in our kids' section too and we are always surprised at the imaginations of our younger guests as they create houses with swimming pools, spaceships and every kind of vehicle! (Every new lego creation is rewarded with a lollipop)!

You can also get a lollipop if you beat the high score on one of our two Arcade Space Invaders / Pacman machines in the lobby.. we have had a few "older" kids try too and mostly fail to get some of the more difficult records.

But Dad.. if you want to look cool and impress the kids with your Kung Fu skills or Galaxian prowess.. then our lobby is the place for you!

Some kids have gotten a lollipop for singing us a song, drawing a picture, demonstrating acrobatic excellence, piling 12 stones on top of each other in the garden and sometimes for just having a jolly good try or being nice!

We have lots and lots of kids books, comics and games & card games as well and we also have magic tricks for you to learn and guess what you get if you show us a successful trick? Yes, a white rabbit, ok, you guessed it, a lollipop!

All jets added to lego building must be eco and Kids are encouraged to think Green when building..

Important safety notice on Lollipops: Please eat your lollipop responsibly, they are really bad for your teeth, but hey, afterall, you are on holiday, so please just ask your parent or guardian seconds before you eat your yummy lollipop.. and brush your teeth!

OTHER STUFF..

There are lots of surprises outdoors at the Lodge as well. Do try to find our secret terrace with Giant's bench.. this is where the local mountain Giant likes to rest in peace & quiet when he comes down from Nanos mountain.

The bird hole is easy to find, but can you also find the hidden books with a lollipop inside..

We also have an area hidden in our little forest where we have 2 swinging hammocks and older big kids will very probably like this place, cos it is nice & cool to chill out here on a hot summer's day. If you can find it, you are very welcome to chillax there.

And if you are lucky enough to come in the winter and there is snow then you can also play one of our favourite winter games.. Spot the Lipizzaner! Can you spot the Lipizzaner in the photo below left??

Each Guest Room is Different..

Every room at the Lodge is completely different to the others and most of the rooms are named after a country we were lucky enough to travel to.. There are little treasures decorating each room that we brought back from that particular country.. which room will you get?!

Perhaps our most ambitious project to date was to make an entire secret bedroom for the new Stable One apartment. Oh yesadoodledo, this apartment has a secret door next to the bathroom, where kids can go up a secret staircase to their own bedroom. If the kids can't find the secret door, then they just have to sleep on the kitchen floor!!

Lots of Baby Dragons..

And last but not least, did you know that Slovenia is the only place in Europe (apart from Wales, of course) where you can find real dragons? Boring old adults call them "human fish" or "proteus", but everyone knows they are really baby dragons.. but not so many other people know these little magical creatures can live for over 100 years and even fewer people know that every hundred years.. one.. yes one.. Baby dragon.. turns into a real dragon!

And if you don't believe us then just visit some of the massive local caves and you will see baby dragons for yourself and then you can make your own mind up!

One thing is for sure, some of the caves you will see in Green Slovenia are big enough to hide a dragon..

You can also walk about 999 metres from the Lodge to the next village of Smihel, in English St Michael, (see photo above right) to find a 3 metre high dragon and the local hero Jakob, who killed the very last evil dragon from the Postojna cave.

More secrets.. At night you can see across the fields and hills to the local Nanos mountain and.. if you are lucky.. you will see the scary red eyes of the Nanos dragon!

AND if you go visit the Owlery just after dark, we sometimes get little glow flies whizzing around by there, or maybe they are just real fairies!

And if you go visit the epic Vilenica Cave, just 20 mins form the Lodge in your parent's automobile, there is a giant chamber there called the "Fairy Chamber" with spectacular colours and possibly the most beautiful cave in the whole of Green Slovenia and that is saying something!

Near that cave is a massive hidden crater, which absolutely MUST have a dragon hidden in the huge forest you can see from below and so we call this crater the Dragons' Crater.

Ok last secret for now until you get here, but the very best cave to see Baby Dragons in is our fave Planina Cave, 15 mins form the Lodge or 5 mins with a helicopter.. You can do an epic rubber boat tour into the cave and as you paadle along Slovenia's longest water cave there ARE REAL BABY DRAGONS swimming alongside you, maybe more than one hundred!

Whatever you do, don't let the cat out of the bag about all these secrets!!

Oh yes and one last thing.. did we mention already to be sure to ask the permission of the person who buys the toothpaste, before you eat your lollipop!!!
