We are so close to hundreds of Slovenia's best places to visit and just 45 mins from 2 international airports. Too many people are missing out by either driving straight through Slovenia or just overnighting and not actually finding out what this "Little Switzerland with a Little Coast" has to offer..

Nearby Lipica is the home of the unique Lipizzaner horse breed, but we have a few of them here at the Lodge too!

We spent plenty of time visiting and researching all around Slovenia to locate the very best position to build Lipizzaner Lodge so that our guests can quickly settle in and start exploring the whole of this beautiful country from one comfy base..

Every year we are constantly surprised to find even more new secret places to visit close by and realise how lucky we were to find such a great spot for the Lodge! 

Hike 40 mins along a secret forest path to the most unique castle in the world!

We are just 10 mins drive from one of the most beautiful and unique castles in the world, the fairytale Predjama castle.. but most Lodge guests walk there just 40 mins along a secret forest path direct from the hotel!

It's also just a 12 min drive to the Postojna caves, the most visited cave in Europe and you can also hike there, or even better E Bike from the Lodge. There are many other fantastic and much less busy show caves very close by too..

Even the uberstunning Lake Bled is just a one hour direct drive from the Lodge!

We are just 20 minutes from the even more spectacular Skocjan caves or Lipica, the home of the world famous Lipizzaner white horses.

We are only 30 minutes to the Mediterranean seaside, the Slovenian or Italian Adriatic coast , (just 70 mins to the Croatian seaside as well)..

Rakov Skocjan here is less than 20 mins from the Lodge and one of Slovenia's most amazing Green secret places..

It is just half an hour to the smallest, cutest capital city in Europe, Ljubljana and if you go in the opposite direction, it is just 25 mins to the now Italian city that became the main port of the Austro Hungarian empire.. Trieste !

The Lodge is surrounded by smaller, pretty Dinaric mountains, perfect for hiking and we are just one hour from the beautiful lake Bled and the 3 other Slovenian Alps.

Just 35 mins to Izola, our fave place on Slovenia's Mediterranean coast!

Our position is also perfect to visit Slovenia's biggest secret place, the wine growing Vipava Valley just 20 mins away.. rather handily, there is a fab motorway through the valley to whisk our guests up to the uberbeautiful Soca river and a huge choice of unimaginably beautiful gorges, lakes, little Alpine towns and waterfalls..

ALL these Green wonders are located within multiple easy & spectacular day return drives from here.. have a meal on the way or eat back at the Lodge!

The Vipava Valley is the closest of Slovenia's 7 wine regions to the Lodge, just 15 mins by car!

Maybe you have already heard about how fantastic Slovenian cuisine and wines are? There is no magic trick to it, everything is just produced very simply and very locally, but Lipizzaner Lodge stands at a crossroads in Central Europe, where so many different food influences blend into each other and we are proud to recommend 19 fantastic and completely different local restaurants to our guests within a 5 - 20 min drive from the Lodge AND a further 5 more really excellent eateries in the nearby Vipava valley, all less than 25 mins away.. Lipizzaner Lodge could really not be positioned better! We are less than 10 minutes from 4 junctions of the ultra modern Slovenian motorway network going all directions north, south, east and west, but still in the heart of the countryside, (that's little Landol, below a bit in the last photo)!

The Lodge is located under Slovenia's last mountain, Nanos, over there a bit, look!

We are also just 10 minutes from the local town of Postojna with all the facilities you could need on holiday, (6 supermarkets, a train station and a world famous cave!) but we sit in a peaceful little village surrounded by green paradise in every direction with Slovenia's last mountain before Italy, (Nanos, 1,313m) pretty much in our back garden.. there are plenty of terraces to sit and relax on to watch the sun set..       

Put simply, we aim to be your home from home to zoom off on your own little half day & full day trip adventures, chill out and relax or explore the Green nature on our doorstep.. We will assist you as much or as little as you please, so you can make the most of your visit to Slovenia, north Italy and Istria, (north west Croatia).
